Your Assessor, Kasey Summerville

Kasey L. Summerville was elected assessor in 2002 and began her service on January 1, 2003.

Kasey holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Philander Smith College and a Master of Arts in Management in Leadership from Webster University.

She was selected among her peers to win the Kenneth Eddy Award in 2008. This is an award that is presented annually to an assessor who has made valued contributions to the Assessor's Association. She was named assessor of the year in 2005. She has been on the cutting edge of technology and has often contributed to the assessment field. She obtained her Certification as an Assessment Administrator in December of 2012.

Making a positive impact, improve the processes and efficiency within the office and be prepared for the next generation is the goal of this administration. She encourages staff development and leads with a team concept. Although her job is to assess an appraise property for taxation, she also feels it is her personal responsibility to use this platform to be involved in the community. This administration participates in many causes and offers useful information to the general public in various ways. Some of which are detailed in this document.

Technology improvements, fast and friendly service, progressive and innovative methods are the foundation of the Summerville administration.

Kasey holds professional memberships in the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), Arkansas Assessor's Association (AAA), Serves on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Finance, Pensions and Intergovernmental Affairs (FPIGA) Steering Committee, National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) and IAAO Arkansas Chapter. She was appointed by then Governor Mike Beebe to serve on the GIS Board and completed two four year terms.

She resides in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and has two adult children. She is an active member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Family Enrichment Center and the STAND Foundation, INC. and volunteers in various capacities.
